Every piece is not only made we love and is truly unique. Every OPiece has a story to tell. Kevin can tell you the timber, the age of the tree, where the timber was logged (or fallen), how he acquired it and how he came to use it in a certain way.
Kevin’s interest in the history of the ranges was stirred when he first started wood carving many moons ago. He started tracking around looking for suitable pieces of timber to use. It was then he first realised the hardship and difficulties confronting the first timber getters and settlers.
He decided to find out as much as he could about these early men and women. Over a number of years, he has contacted as many descendants as he could.
All this history was then recorded in Kevin’s two books. The books are made up of family stories and documented history. The first timber men came in search of this most valuable timber wherever it grew, from the highest mountain to steepest valley and Kevin has tried to record their history so we can enjoy it.
When Kevin brings a new piece into the store I can’t help but write a love letter about them. I enjoy the feel and the emotions every piece evokes in me. If you are wanting to buy a piece of history, something that you can turn into a family heirloom then Kevin’s pieces are you.
