Dragon Fruit: Is It Worth Growing for You?
Low on space, renting, or building your food forest slowly but still wanting to grow nutrient-dense, organic food?
This session is designed to help you decide whether dragon fruit is a high-value crop for your health, lifestyle, and available space, before you commit years of time and garden real estate.
Rather than theory alone, this is a tasting-led, practical session. You’ll sample different dragon fruit varieties, learn how they actually perform, and understand which types suit pots, trellises, and small or temporary gardens.
If dragon fruit makes sense for you, you’ll also learn how to grow it sustainably and successfully. If it doesn’t, you’ll leave with clarity and maybe some Dragon Fruit straight from the farm and that’s just as valuable.
What this session includes:
Dragon fruit tasting to compare flavour, texture, and seediness
Guidance on which varieties are worth growing in limited space or rented gardens
Sustainable, organic growing approaches suited to Australian conditions
Practical advice on planting, support, pruning, and long-term care
Fresh dragon fruit and dragon fruit cuttings available for purchase on the day
This is a small, considered session with room for questions, discussion, and real-world advice, not information overload.
Perfect for renters, small-space gardeners, or anyone wanting to grow food thoughtfully rather than impulsively.
